My 2 cents worth: ALL ABOUT EVE
The 10th of June marks the finale of, what I believe, one of the topnotch korean soaps of all time.Yes, leaving only eight more episodes and still counting down, a close awaits my favorite koreanovela to date, "All About Eve".
Yeah, you heard it right... "My favorite koreanovela..."
I first fell in love with the filipino opening song.. I find it really superb with the mild voice of "whatshername" and the gentle accompaniment of ebony and ivory... I'm really trying hard to find the title of the song out but to no avail.. (So if anyone knows the title of the song, please tell me.. I'm dying to download it.. )
The plot is wonderful too.. It is quite rare for a plot to comprise of four people in a bizarre "love rectangle".
The story is set in MBS Network where the paths of Nicole, Kenneth, Erica and Warren met and intertwined.. Nicole was the usual sweet girl who always remained positive while Erica was the overly ambitious and devious b!tch (yes she really was a b!tch in the soap, no offense meant) who tried to steal everything away from Nicole. At first Nicole loved Warren, but because Erica wanted to make Nicole's life miserable, she seduced him and made him leave Nicole's side.. The two girls aspired to be news anchors and through drive and perseverance, they succeeded to be so in MBS where they met Kenneth... And this was the start of a beautiful love story between Kenneth and Nicole....
Unlike Filipino soaps which are boorish and sluggish in pacing, Koreanovelas are fast-paced and worthwhile to watch... However, Koreans have a rather distasteful urge for sad endings wherein the girl would die or would acquire a disease like leukemia or such.. Sometimes, it is disappointing to watch something and then it ends in a sad fashion ("Memories of Bali" and "Stained Glass" viewers be prepared). I am pleased to say, however, that "All About Eve" has a nice and sweet ending and everyone gets what he/she deserves...
All in all, a rather nice thing to watch... Enjoy watching it. XD
